| Overview: |
The new 3 storey addition was designed to be over top of the existing courtyard roof at the back side of the hospital and connect to the existing hospital bridge. The first floor of new steel was to match with the existing 4th level supported by columns that spanned directly to the ground. The existing bridge had to be reinforced heavily as well as have the existing bearing plates jacked and replaced with newer ones. There was only one way in and one way out of the jobsite which meant Steel deliveries had to be planned well in advanced especially with an active hospital. |
