With the new OLG stage constructed at the West side of the property the pool needed to be relocated. The only remaining space for the pool was on the roof of the existing 16 storey mid tower, providing breath taking views of both the City of Niagara Falls and the falls themselves. Extensive steel plate reinforcing of the existing shear walls was required. All roof steel was architecturally exposed. Roof steel deck was reveal series requiring much care during erection, when finished the roof deck resembles tongue and groove wood. All finish painted was completed in the field by NRE. 2 new link bridges to the adjacent 35 storey South tower and 52 storey North tower were constructed to allow access to the mid tower. NRE owned mobile tower crane was utilized for all structural steel erection, concrete pours, insulated wall panel erection, glazing and material handling. |
